From Open Graph tags in your page's HTML: og:title, og:description and og:image. Facebook, LinkedIn and WhatsApp read them; X reads its own twitter: tags first and falls back to Open Graph.
What size should my share image be?
1200 × 630 pixels (a 1.91:1 ratio), as a JPG or PNG under 5 MB. Keep important text away from the edges, because some platforms crop slightly.
I fixed my tags but Facebook still shows the old preview. Why?
Platforms cache previews for days. Paste the address into the Facebook Sharing Debugger or the LinkedIn Post Inspector and ask them to fetch it again.
Do you store the pages I check?
No. We fetch the page and its image once to build the preview, and don't save either.
