Answer Engine Optimization
AEO: make your content the answer people see first
More searches now end on the results page. Google shows an answer box, a "People also ask" panel or an AI Overview, and voice assistants read out a single reply. Answer Engine Optimization structures your content so these systems can find, understand and use a clear answer from your site.

How search is changing
People increasingly expect an answer, not a list of links
For many questions, search engines now show the answer straight away. That changes what it means to "rank". If your page is third in the results but another site's answer sits in a box above it, many searchers never get to you.
It also means a page can rank well and still lose out, simply because its answer is buried in a long introduction, spread across paragraphs or hidden in a PDF. Search systems prefer content where the question is clear, the answer comes first and the detail follows.
AEO fixes that, without rewriting your site for robots. Clear answers help human readers just as much.
What we do
What AEO work involves
Question research
We collect the real questions your customers ask, from Search Console data, People Also Ask results, forums, reviews and your own sales and support teams, and group them by topic and intent.
Answer-first content
Each key question gets a direct, self-contained answer near the top of the relevant section, followed by the detail, examples and context a reader needs.
Structured information
Clear headings phrased as questions where it is natural, short definitions, numbered steps, comparison tables and lists: formats that are easy to read and easy for a system to extract.
Entity understanding
Search engines think in entities: people, organizations, products and concepts. We make sure your pages clearly state who you are, what you offer and how things relate, using consistent names and supporting pages.
Structured data
Schema markup (Organization, Article, Product, HowTo and others) where it accurately describes the page, so search engines understand it without guessing.
Technical considerations
Answers have to be crawlable and indexable: rendered in HTML, not hidden behind scripts, fast to load, and not blocked by snippet settings or robots rules.

A simple example of the kind of change AEO makes. The facts don't change. The order and clarity do.
Before
"Our team has worked with many businesses over the years, and one question we hear often relates to the subject of how long it takes for search engine optimization efforts to start producing the kinds of results that clients are hoping for…"
After
How long does SEO take?
"Technical fixes can show an effect within weeks. Competitive rankings usually take several months. The timeline depends on three things: your site's current state, your competitors and how much content is needed."
Who it's for
Where AEO makes the biggest difference
- Businesses whose customers ask a lot of questions before buying: SaaS, finance, healthcare, education, professional services
- Sites with plenty of useful content that isn't structured to be extracted
- Brands that want to appear in AI Overviews for their core topics
- Local businesses answering "how", "how much" and "can I" questions
Honest expectations
What AEO can and can't do
AEO can make your content clearer, more useful and a much stronger candidate for answer features. It cannot guarantee a featured snippet or an AI Overview mention. Search engines pick these query by query, test different sources and change their layouts often.
That is why we judge AEO by trends across a set of target questions, and by the traffic and inquiries those pages bring, rather than by any single placement.
How we work
How an AEO project runs
-
Understand
Your audience, the questions they ask before buying, and the topics you want to be known for.
-
Audit
Which of your pages already rank for question searches, which answer features exist for them and who currently wins them.
-
Plan
A list of pages to restructure, answers to write and structured data to add, ordered by expected value.
-
Execute
We rewrite and restructure content, add markup and fix technical blockers, or brief your team to do it.
-
Measure
Answer placements, question-search impressions, AI Overview appearances and the inquiries those pages bring.
-
Improve
We refine answers that aren't being picked up and extend the approach to new topics.
Answer boxes reward one thing above all: a clear, direct answer near the top of the page. Most sites bury theirs under three paragraphs of introduction. That is usually the first thing we change.

Ask Your QuestionWhat is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?
SEO is the foundation: making your site crawlable, relevant and trusted so it ranks. AEO focuses on one outcome of that: having a specific, well-formatted answer that search features and assistants can show directly. GEO is broader still. It is about how AI tools such as ChatGPT or Google's AI Mode understand and describe your brand across many sources. The three overlap, and AEO and GEO don't work without good SEO underneath.
If search engines show the answer directly, won't we lose clicks?
For some simple questions, yes. Fewer people click when the answer is short and complete. But being the source of that answer builds recognition and trust, and for anything more involved, people click through to the source they have just seen. The alternative is a competitor's answer appearing in that space instead.
We already do SEO. Do we need AEO as well?
Not necessarily as a separate service. If your SEO work already includes question research, answer-first content and structured data, you are doing AEO. Many businesses find their content is written in a way that buries the answer, and that is where focused AEO work helps.
Can you guarantee a featured snippet or an AI Overview mention?
No. Search engines choose these per query, often test different sources, and change how they display them. Nobody can promise a placement. AEO makes your content a strong, clear candidate, and we track how often you are chosen over time.
Does FAQ schema still help?
Google now shows FAQ rich results for only a small set of authoritative sites, so FAQ markup rarely changes how a normal result looks. Structured data still helps search engines understand a page, so we use it where it accurately describes what is on the page, not as a trick.
How do you measure AEO?
We track featured snippets and People Also Ask placements for your target questions, impressions for question-type searches in Search Console, appearances in AI Overviews for a fixed set of queries, and the traffic and inquiries those pages bring.
